For the first time since I’ve used the King’s College Hospital outpatient pharmacy, I arrived in this situation: no one was in the “drop your prescription” or “collect your medication” waiting line—it was~ 18:45.

I could go directly through but was asked to wait until my collection number appeared on the screens.

I confess that I devised a task to reduce my waiting time: I left for my grocery shopping in a nearby supermarket, and when I returned 60 minutes later, I could walk in directly—again, there was no queue. I was out a minute later with my meds and spent only three minutes overall on the outpatient pharmacy grounds.

I know this isn't possible for everyone, but I'm happy about the far more relaxed process at the outpatient pharmacy, where I sometimes waited two hours or more throughout the last few years.

This is by far one of the worse services I've ever seen in my life so far... the system in place is clearly not working... 30 minutes for each person will create huge congestion, I came here at 4pm, with 6 people waiting to now over 20+ people waiting and increasing as we speak. I actually felt like I was in a warzone. The entire place is filthy, and staff are useless at their roles. A review of this place is highly needed, or this kind of place will turn into an inquiry later in the future.

A recepção é muito rude, me cobrou o preço mais alto, não explicou, gritou comigo. Super rude (fui em 29/12/2024). I forgot to mention that I had the prescription that the doctor at the hospital gave me. There was absolutely no one in front of me and he made me wait 30 minutes.

After a couple of years without using this pharmacy, I went there today, and staff and security were friendly and professional but the system despite being terrible didn't improve at all . Now, you get a message to collect your meds but isn't accurate as when I went in to collect was no one at the counter. They called 3 ppl at same time despite being only one person serving. So I had to wait again. The facilities are completely not fir for purpose as you see inpatients from the hospital wearing robes, parents with babies , disable people waiting some outside in cold as the shipping container doesn't fit everyone . The ramp it's massive and awkward. Not even sure how it passed the H & S risk assessment. The staff are nice and cosy inside and patients and other clients are outside in terrible conditions. I didn't even ask if they have toilets for people that are waiting for ages . ..but wouldn't be surprised if they don't due to their careless and selfish approach to their clients. They can go away with it because the meds prescribed at Hospital can only be collected from them , otherwise if people could go somewhere else ,they would not have those conditions for sure. They are taking advantage of a necessity but hopefully things will change one day .

Absolutely useless. Waited 45 minutes in line yesterday only to be told they don't carry the meds I was prescribed in A&E to full the pain of Kidney stones. Told me they would courier it to me today as I wouldn't have any one to take me to pick up today. Called the 8 times to check I was on their list of deliveries and always got the "sorry this line is busy" message after 4 mins of ringing. Now it's gone beyond their 6pm delivery and I don't have the pain relief I need AND PAID £9.90 FOR! If I could do it over again, I would have gone slightly further and chosen St Thomas Hospital !

Extremely bad, alot of frustrated people here waiting for over 30 minutes for their prescription despite theres quite a few people working there.

The system of how they operate is bad, if I had known how bad this pharmacy was I wouldve just asked for my prescription to be sent to my local pharmacy!

A complete waste of my time, will not be coming back!

Avoid this place if possible! I’ve been standing here with my husband for over 2.5 hours now waiting for his prescription and it’s just for one item!! I am still waiting and have been told by the security to queue again! I’ve never come across a system as ridiculous as this!! SORT IT OUT!!

Back here 6 months later and the system is just as bad or maybe worse! You register for your prescription on the ground floor on your way out. You wait for a text to inform you that your prescription is ready. Then you head to the pharmacy in the cabin outside to be told you need to queue. Still an hour waiting time overall! I noticed the security allowed 2 people to jump the queue. WHAT A JOKE!!

It's ridiculous to have to wait 1.5 hours to collect your medicines. outdoors only under a tarpaulin. After emergency visit 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬I recommend that after visiting the hospital you ask for a prescription without having to pick it up at that particular pharmacy
