It's a hotel with a lot going for it and a lot working against it.||The good:||-Location is decent in DTLA, though it could be better. Excellent if you're going to the Staples Center or Convention Center, not so good if you want to visit the heart of downtown, which is a 35-40 minute walk.||-Building is a beautiful high-rise with gorgeous views of LA and the San Gabriel Mountains. The lobby in particular is truly stunning.||-Nice, modern aesthetic. Extremely clean. What you'd expect from an AC.||The bad:||-Mandatory $30 daily resort fee which is basically useless. It comes with "perks" that 99% of people won't use, including $30 of comps at their restaurants. You can't stack these day-over-day, and a drink + appetizer at Lalola or AC Bar & Lounge, which are the main restaurants on site, will easily run you $60+ after tax and tip. So it's just a way to make you pay $30 extra per night over your room rate and then tempt you into spending even more at their property. Really greasy.||-Open-concept bathroom, as a rule, is terrible. Some people like privacy. Marriott, for some reason, would rather you not have it.||-Air conditioning units in the rooms are motion activated, meaning there's no way to prevent the temperature from climbing as much as 10 degrees over the course of the night. For cold sleepers like me, this interrupted my sleep like clockwork every night. I had to get up out of bed multiple times, allow the AC to click on, then go back to sleep until the cycle repeated.||Overall, I'd say this is a hotel that doesn't know what it wants to be. In some respects, it acts like a luxury, five-star hotel. But it clearly isn't that, which makes for a weird juxtaposition.

Great location and views, we could see the Hollywood sign from the room.

The room layout is interesting as the shower door opens directly into the room. We travelled as a family so it wasn’t an issue, but it could be awkward if you’re travelling with friends.

Remember to cross over (through the doors by the AC elevators) to use the Mozy elevators so you don’t have to take 2 elevators every time you want to leave.

I truly appreciated the attentive assistance and service from Dalia. She is a waitress in the skyline restaurant. I truly appreciate good customer service and she was amazing. It was a last minute flight to LA from Va with airports full of misleading signs and rude TSA agents and Uber drivers that didn’t seem to navigate through the city well. I know i can be a difficult individual when annoyed but it was good to be handled by a welcoming staff with exceptional customer service training.

Friendly, helpful staff. Crystal, Jasmine, Dalia and Abigail working the breakfast buffet were very helpful when we requested gf bread and egg whites which were not on the buffet. The open concept bathroom is not ideal for anyone other than families with small children and couples.

Amazing staff i.e: Whitney,Ashley,Ernesto, and Lindsey , they all had great customer service and made sure everything was good. The stay was great and eventful! I definitely recommend Ac Hotel for your stay here in La ! The room was amazing from the shower the view and everything ! Thank Ac for this amazing stay

Good hotel in downtown LA! Perfect view above the City. Great location when you have Business in Downtown or Silverlake. It was even not far to.the Beach.

Really good Fitness Room. Its open 24 hours and well equipped. Its a reason for me to book there again.

I have been a loyal Marriott customer for many year, and my experiences have consistently been positive - until my recent stay at here. I had my worst experience here with the front desk lady wearing red glasses during check in. She was very rude, mean, and unprofessional. I will not return to this location and recommend it to my friends. I hope this property can improve customer service so people won't have negative experience during their trip

When I checked in, I was told that valet service was included in the package my company purchased for me. Someone retrieved my car for me but right as I was about to enter my car a worker named Bernard came out and yelled at me for not paying. He did not bother to double check anything before coming out and screaming that I wasn't allowed to leave until I paid for additional nights. Turns out the valet/hotel made a mistake and thought I was only a visitor for a single night so it showed I had not paid for the remaining nights. The issue was resolved but the way I was spoken to was unacceptable. I am a young woman who drives an older car and I believe that is why Bernard felt it was fine to berate me. The valet is the last point of contact I had with the hotel and therefore soured my entire stay. If you are a younger person and want to be treated with basic respect then I suggest you go elsewhere.
