We have had 2 amazing skiing holidays with family & friends at Chalet D'or. Phil, Yvonne and Juliette are the most beautiful hosts and family. The Chalet is in such a magical location on the piste - ski in / ski out. Phil & Yvonne cannot do enough to ensure you have a great time - they have been in the area a long time and know everything you need them to know. The chalet is so warm and inviting and the food amazing, we always want to take Yvonne's recipes home with us - but Im not sure they would end up as fantastic! Cannot recommend this chalet enough, we will definitely be back again. Perfect location, stunning views and beautiful hosts, nothing else needed!

We had a fantastic week staying in this ski in ski out chalet. It was comfortable, spacious and relaxing. There are beautiful views over the valley. Phil and Yvonne were thoughtful hosts and the food was delicious including regional dishes and local specialities. They have a very relaxed and flexible approach. Our arrival on snowshoes after dark with snow falling was magical, enhanced by a mug of mulled wine at the chalet. Our skis were ready at the chalet so with no hassle we could just set off on the slopes the next morning. The resort had plenty varied skiing and there was also bigger La Clusaz to visit by bus included in the Aravais ski pass. If you want nightlife, it's probably not the place for you, but if you want skiing, relaxation, comfort and lovely hosts, it's just the job.

We spent a wonderful week at Chalet D'or in January 2014. The chalet is perfectly situated, right near telecabine La Joyere with views over Le Grand Bornand village. Magical at night and at sunrise! Accommodation in the chalet is spacious - there is ample room for many adults and children. A cozy lounge with fireplace perfect for a few wines after a day of skiing and the perfect outdoor desk for watching the skiing action on the adjacent piste when it's time for a break. Our hosts, Phil, Yvonne and Juliette were just lovely. So kind and helpful. Amazing food - we particularly enjoyed fresh croissants for breakfast and sampling local delights for dinner. This was our first experience of a 'ski holiday' in France, it surpassed all of our expectations and we truly hope that we can visit Chalet D'or again in the future!

Chalet d'Or is a haven of peace in a beautiful area of the French Alps. The chalet itself is clean and comfortable, a ski in ski out chalet at the top of the gondola. Yvonne and Phil will provide not only a warm welcome but fantastic food, friendly hospitality and one of the most comfortable and homely chalets I have stayed in. Copious food and drink, a log fire and cake on return from the slopes. What more can you ask for ? The skiing area is a well guarded secret, never too busy and always bags of snow. Adequate for all levels of ability. Try it and you'll see what I mean.
