Our hosts, Clare and Steve made us feel immediately at home as we arrived in the beautiful setting not far from the Bastide town of Monpazier. Our gite was spacious and very well fitted with wonderful views across the countryside and offering its own outside area in which to enjoy the peace and serenity of the area. We enjoyed some relaxing times around the swimming pool and a bonus for us was the opportunity to enjoy a three course meal with wine beautifully cooked by Clare.
We would definitely go back and have no hesitation in highly recommending.

A beautiful location and cottage that was ideally placed for trips, meals and days out to the rest of the Dordogne area. The hosts Steve and Clare hit the perfect balance of humour, advice and privacy with Clare’s welcome meal on the first evening the perfect start to a great holiday.

Steve and Clare were more than helpful, and nothing was too much trouble for them. We took the option of an evening meal when we arrived which was a great way of easing into our holiday after a long day's driving. They have a great rural location, but it is still only a short drive away from all the places you would choose to visit.

We have stayed with Clare and Steve for the last five years. My Wife found them when they were in Grasse, we were on a tour of the South of France from Nimes to Nice. Clare and Steve were wonderful hosts and actually sorted out Supper for us on the first night, as we were too tired to go to the Supermarket after a long drive. We were all set to go back the following year and were devastated to find that they were moving, until we discovered they were fortunately moving to the Perigueux - our favourite place! So we have been back to La Surprise every year since they moved. The new property is excellent. We have stayed in all three Gites. They are very well appointed and provide for all your needs. The pool is excellent. Trust me you will love it here!

We had a lovely break staying in the beautifully renovated 2 bed gite at La Surprise. The setting is idyllic, peaceful countryside. Highly recommended.
