We rent the appartment no.409 through HomeAway (no problems there as always happy to book through them)

First problem we discovered was that the owner worked with an agency, an agency we didn't even know existed untill a few days before departure.

Second problem we encountered was that the agency charged €30.00 for arriving after 21.00 hours (which we didn't know about because we didn't know about the agency) and on arrival we were told that checking out before 08.30 am would also cost €30.00 because it were abnormal hours.

My partner works in a hospitality position and she and her co-workers work from 06.00 am untill 22.00 pm so abnormal hours are a question of hospitality...

Third problem (yes there are a few) is that the owner misplaced his location on the map from HomeAway.

We choose the appartment because of the location shown on the site and were shocked to find it was in a totally different location and twice the distance of where we wanted to be.

Fourth problem is that the overal state of the appartment wasn't exactly great, we have added pictures from the appartment (no. 409)

Fifth problem was that the apparment probably wasn't cleaned very well as we found hairs from previous tennants in our bed, it was dusty and the floor could have done with a good sweep.

Sixth problem was the front door.

At the day before checking out we were no longer able to open the door from the inside and were locked in (without even having locked the door with a key)

When contacting the agency we were told that we should have contacted the owner (who untill then kept pointing at the agency) which left us stuck inside and having to call out for help at the balcony and thank heavens there was a gardener mowing the grass.

The gardener was able to open the door from the outside and we bought tools to create a temporary solution so we didn't have to sleep out in the hall way.

Furthermore for entering the appartment with either luggage or children it would be a wise idea to step into the bathroom first as the steps down into the appartment are very close to the enterance and if you step the wrong way you could be down faster than you want.

Also what annoyed us mostly is that the owner kept pointing towards the agency for anything and everything.

All in all we had a good time.

But that had everything to do with the event and the people involved (Alpe d'Huzes) but not with the appartment.
