My husband and I were in town for a wedding. We stayed for three days and loved every minute of it! ||We stayed in the Egyptian room. Everything was done so well and authentic! ||Bed was very comfy! I didn't like the pillow I had so they got me another one that was perfect. ||Everyone that works there is so nice and welcoming. ||I highly recommend the Victorian Mansion!

My husband surprised me with the Roman suite back in 2021 for us anniversary. We loved it so much we’ve been going back almost every year booking different rooms. We’ve also stayed at the French suite and the Egyptian suite. Each suite is a totally different experience. The attention to detail is amazing, from the murals, to the furniture, the novelty items, even the music and old DVDs were carefully chosen for the room theme. It’s incredible really to think of the time and effort that was thoughtfully put into each suite. The breakfast tray delivered to our room each morning is such a treat! The quiches, stratas, croissants and muffins all taste homemade. Oh and the luxurious soaking tub in the suite! Service is excellent. Rod and his staff are super helpful and friendly. We’ve brought our friends to weekend with us and now they’re hooked too. We’re already planning on the next trip 🙂 I highly recommend! 5 STARS!

I absolutely love this place! My husband and I have gone back every year for our anniversary to experience a different themed room. Every room is full of whimsy! And is true to the theme in every way. We also sign up for the wine tour which is worth it.

This place was beyond our expectations. It was a very enchanting and wonderful stay! The workers and owner are very kind and friendly there. They are also very helpful and engaging. You can really tell they want to give the best experience possible to couples and travelers. The rooms are outstanding and very thought out! My boyfriend and i stayed there in the Gypsy suite and another room for our 8yr anniversary and they really went all out for the romantic atmosphere. I really appreciate what they are doing with this place and really providing a magical experience like never before with a very yummy breakfast every morning. Also the location is very small, green and quiet. Keeping with the rustic and serene environment. Anyone who decides not to stay here would really be missing out!

We had the pleasure of staying for a couple nights back in May. We stayed in the French Suite. Very nice! We really enjoyed the little balcony, the fireplace and slept fine up in the loft. We appreciated that the lights and even the fireplace could be controlled remotely from the loft.

Breakfasts were really tasty and arrived exactly at the appointed time.

We never got around to trying the big soaking tub in the room but it looked cool.

We like the fresh air during the night and if you do too just be aware that the highway out front can get busy and noisy at times.

While the photos of the room make it reasonably obvious, I figure I’d be remiss if I didn’t also add a few words about some things to watch out for. If you are not capable of carrying your luggage up long flights of stairs, this French Suite room is not for you. This room is at the very top of the house. Also, getting into and outta bed involves navigating the metal spiral staircase. Some folks may find that daunting.

One last note: in other reviews we noted that there was a bottle of wine upon arrival but that was not the case for us so I think that is not something they do anymore.

Words cannot describe how amazing and magical The Vick and all of their staff are, but I will try!!! My wife and I stayed in the French suite on Valentine’s Day and our jaws dropped from the moment we arrived till long after we left and cannot wait to return and stay in each and every room!! It felt as though we were transported entirely to a French suite with a view of the Eiffel Tower! Hand painted murals, the large two person Japanese soaking tub, music and lighting ambience, and our own private fireplace. They accommodated our allergies, and went above and beyond in EVERYTHING. Adria, Denise, and Cathy were all so amazing and made sure every one of our needs were met and exceeded. We will be back and I cannot wait for the next day we get to stay at this amazing bed and breakfast!!!

While I love a good B&B, I was skeptical at first when gifted a two night stay here. Now wrapping my second night here, the attention to detail and authenticity of the themed rooms is uncanny, we are so impressed! This isn’t a cheap gimmick but an eccentric work of legendary art. It took 10 years and 200 craftspeople to build this mansion as it stands today, with the muralist working 40hrs a week for two years! Upon researching Los Alamos, Los Olivos, and the Santa Ynez region, we were overwhelmed with how many things we wanted to do and places to see…. But upon arrival, we were so delightfully surprised by our room that we returned immediately after dinner at Bell’s to watch one of the movies on theme and enjoyed sparkling wine in our room provided by our host. We stayed in the French Loft which was very comfortable with a lovely balcony, ample lighting options (and an easy remote to control them all), a gas fireplace, a comfortable bed, and tasty breakfast served via dumbwaiter. We are recommending The Vick to all our friends and family and look forward to coming back.
