We had lovely holiday staying in Can Paloume, one of 4 gites at this very tranquil farm in Catalonia. The accommodation is simple but clean and comfortable- there is everything you need. The pool was great particularly for our teenage sons, and there was plenty of space to relax and read and enjoy the amazing views. We did some great walks straight from the cottage, along well marked paths, and Jane was a great source of advice, encouragement and maps. It was reallly good to have bread and croissants ready opn our outside table every breakfast, and the two dinners we had were delicious and convivial. It's quite a way from the vilage, andthe roads here are very wiggly, so it is pretty remote, but the stars are amazing! Jane, Felix and Goerge are good hosts, and were very straightforward to deal with- I'd certainly recommend this place to anyone wanting a really relaxing stay in a very beautiful place

I have twice visited Le Paloume, the first time I explored the area on foot and on the bike and Le Paloume is beautifully located, away from the hustle and bustle but all amenities are also easily accessible if you so desire. The 2nd time, I came back with my husband and 2 step sons and we stayed in the Can Paloume cottage for 2 weeks. The house is beautifully restored with original stone walls, fully equipped kitchen and a lovely private terrace. The hospitality of Jane, Felix and George has been great and they know the area really well. The surrounding area is stunning, the sunset over the mountains and the options for outdoor activity are fantastic. A very relaxing and beautiful holiday retreat. We will be back!

We stayed at La Paloume for a week in September. The location is stunning as other reviewers have said. Our gite (which is the only one which isnt actually on the web site) overlooked the main courtyard of the farm. It was light, nicely decorated and well furnished (the knives in the kitchen were actually sharp which in our experience is a rarity in rented cottages!) and clean. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great. We did see one of the other gites which was also very nice but had less day light (which Im sure is a blessing in the height of summer!). ||||The pool is incredible!! It is in a field above the cottages and has uniterrupted views of the hills and mountains all the way around and is not overlooked by anyone. The parasols look as if they come from another era and have been repaired in a DIY manner but with views like that who cares and it all adds to the charm! The pool was immaculately clean and didnt seem very chlorinated. To top it all it is covered at night which means the water was a gorgeous temperature. |||| La Paloume is also a great base for walks whether you want to walk an hour or all day. Mount Capel is a good walk which takes you past the chateaux up the road and gives you great views up the valley. There is a well marked ridge walk to Arles which partly goes via the GR10 - this is a good days walk. ||||We only met Jane and Felix briefly as they were away most of the week we were there but their sons were there to help if we needed anything. They were very attentive - our washing was brought in when it rained while we were away and provided us with delicious home grown veggies. Unfortunately we didnt get to sample Jane's food which everyone else seems to rave about.||||La Paloume is quite remote - about a 15 min drive to the nearest town, but that is part of its charm and is exactly what we were looking for. At night the silence is deafening - its marvellous!

We have now spent 3 summer holidays at Mas Le Paloume, and have greatly enjoyed the beautifully converted and comfortable gites, the idyllic setting, and the lovely scenery. What has really made each holiday so special, however, is the hospitality of the owners Jane, Felix, and George. They work hard to make their guests' holidays as pleasurable as possible, and nothing seems to be too much trouble to them. Jane's cooking is fantastic, and some of our favourite evenings have been those spent eating one of Jane's meals with the guests of the other gites. Our daughter has thoroughly enjoyed 'helping' Jane with the chickens and ducks, as well as spending hours in the pool, and the whole family has enjoyed a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday. Highly recommended.

This place is very special. We stayed in May 2013 in Can Paloume. The views are wonderful from this place - you look out onto hills, trees mountains and it is so very quiet (apart from the odd sheep bleating!). The accommodation is basic but very clean and you have everything you need. We especially loved having the log burner. ||||Jane is a very warm and helpful host, nothing is too much - we'd even come back from a day exploring to find she'd left us some complimentary duck eggs!||||Finally I'd recommend partaking in the meal, if offered. It is lovely food right on your doorstep!
